Why Too Much Learning Can Be Bad
You have an idea. Perhaps it’s to start an event planning business. Maybe you want to launch a new division of your current business. Perhaps you want to start a new project. Or maybe you have an idea for a new service that no one else is offering in your market.
So you learn about your idea. You read blogs about your idea. You go to conferences to learn even more. And you take classes. Then you read books related to your idea. You just keep learning and learning and learning.
And no real progress is actually made. Learning is comfortable. It’s safe. It feels like you are doing something while you are waiting for the moment when you know everything. You know, that moment when the plan for your idea is guaranteed to work flawlessly?
Good is good enough. That business you want to start? Pick a name, register it, get a domain and buy a website template. That new service you want to launch? List it on your website and start selling it. Those videos you want to make and put on your website? Record your first one tomorrow with your webcam.
Learning and research is good but the most important thing is to actually DO the idea. You can fix it, tweak it, change it, upgrade it, or scrap it later. Nothing happens until you actually put your idea in action.
