Turn Your Blog Posts Into a Client Magnet
Too many of the wedding professionals that I meet are only using their blog as a sort of extended portfolio to showcase their work (or they aren’t blogging at all) and they are missing out on a lot of opportunities. Your blog can be a client magnet that brings new potential clients into your world but only if you use it strategically.
It’s probably pretty safe to say that most of your clients have never planned a wedding before so it’s only natural that they are going to have a lot of questions and even some objections that need addressing before they’re ready to book you. Good news – this is an opportunity in disguise.
One of the best things you can do to be found by your ideal client is to answer their questions. I want you to write down a list of questions you get all the time from clients and potential clients. You can answer these questions in your blog posts and when people search for answers to their questions, your blog posts are going to come up. Google LOVES fresh, helpful content and Google is going to love you for creating it, greatly helping your SEO.
When you write truly helpful blog posts, people will share them. No one is going to share your services page and few people will share a post about someone else’s wedding because it doesn’t matter to them. What matters to them is the problems they are facing and you have to keep that in mind when it comes to marketing. You’re going to be writing blog posts anyway so you may as well write something that is going to get you the biggest return. Not only will a helpful blog post be shared more often, but you can share it more often because it is helpful to the person reading it. They will thank you for sharing it!
I know you’re probably wondering what posts you could write that are helpful to your ideal client so I wanted to give you some ideas.
Here are 10 blog post ideas for wedding planners:
If you serve eco-conscious couples you could write posts like…
If quirky couples are your ideal client, you could write posts like…
I think you see where I’m going with this. Take some time today to make a list of questions that your ideal client would love to have answered & start writing blog posts answering them. I’ve given you lots of examples and Planner’s Lounge does a great job of sharing blog topics for wedding planners. If you look through the blog posts here, you’ll see that Debbie addresses the questions, problems & concerns that you (her ideal client) have.

Oh man! Right?
I’ve written some posts just for SEO reasons. Just to get people “in the door”. It keeps my site at the top of the categories I want to be in which is great.
Other posts I write more to my target market and then I share then on social and with clients when the time is write (I.e. we’re at that place in the planning)
That is great Amanda! SEO is so important.
Love the topics. Great post.
Thanks Judith!
