What is your typical day like?
I am lucky to do exactly what I love as my career, so starting my day at 7:30 am isn’t difficult! Besides, I have two dogs who wouldn’t let me sleep in anyway. First things first, I check email for emergencies. Often my brides just want to know I am there and available for them when things feel stressful. Being up early allows me to get a better jump on my day and plan for a productive morning. After any fires are put out, I can get a little me time with some morning yoga – just a 30 minute mini session to get the blood flowing. Then I have a fast breakfast and back to the computer for social media time until 9:30am. After that no more Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest or Instagram unless I’m out of the office and between appointments. Social media can be a real time suck if I am not careful!
The next few hours are spent clearing my inbox, and I mean CLEARING. All of my brides get a 24 hour communication policy that I hold to religiously. If you can’t count on your planner who can you count on? I might not have all the answers, but knowing that the person you trust is “on it” is the comfort my clients deserve.
Lunches are usually out with vendors and friends in the industry. While getting ready, I always have some of my favorite shows on in the background. Confession: I love reality shows that have to do with food, design or business, but NOT WEDDINGS (I already live that show every day). So my favorites are Hell’s Kitchen, the Apprentice, Project Runway, Shark Tank, and Million Dollar Listing – who doesn’t love a show about $10,000 Persian rugs?
After lunch, it’s personal errands or meetings with clients. Then just before the next round, a last check of the emails to see if I can quickly take care of the latest and greatest developments that happened throughout the afternoon.
My evenings for 3-4 nights a week are spent networking or at client meetings. And yes the occasional happy hour – with so much to celebrate – it’s nice to have a cocktail!
How did you get started in the industry?
Before getting into the event industry, I ran a weight loss clinic for seven years. It was amazing and it was what I went to school for. In that business, I was in charge of training, sales, marketing, inventory, market analysis, and customer service to some very emotionally driven clients. All of this really prepared me for running a successful wedding planning business.
When I got the itch to try something new, I had no idea it would be events. Around that time, my cousin asked me to help plan her wedding and I was hooked. My first industry job was for an entertainment company – managing 250+ weddings a year. With all the practical experience and very organically, clients began requesting my assistance to do more for them than just entertainment…and viola- Meant2Be Events was created. Within a short time I was busy with M2B brides and was able to quit my day job and make M2B a full time passion. I have been a full time entrepreneur every since!
Where do you find design inspiration?
My favorite is Architectural Digest Magazine. Interior design is a step ahead of wedding design, so finding your style through home design keeps you just a step ahead of the game!
And luckily I have a favorite floral designer who was previously in the interior design world. She totally gets my ideas when I’m dreaming about building centerpieces to hang from ceilings to resemble archways, or want to turn a kitchen counter into the material for a custom charger plate.
What are your favorite online resources for your business?
Of course Planner’s Lounge!? The others I really enjoy are not wedding specific. My other pearls of wisdom come from sites like Chic CEO, Brazen Life, She-conomy, Advergirl just to name a few…women focused entrepreneurial sites.
Regina, thank you so much for taking the time to share your story and and a day in your life. If you are an event planner and would like to be featured, download our questionnaire today and email it to us along with a photo.

Regina is a very well disciplined individual. I wished Rose and I had her as our wedding planner. I know her work well , as she did a wonderful, beautiful reception for my daughter Sarah and Joe Taylor. <3
Thank you for sharing Wade and Rose!
I have known Gina for many years. It was great to see her grow into the planner and business woman she is today. She is now a well respected and busy weeding planner, and she did it all on her own.
Thank you for sharing Dave. I am proud to feature her here!
