What is your typical day like?
I like to start my day very early, check emails from the night before and answer as much as possible, upload pictures to Instagram and Facebook. Around 8:45, I go to the office and check how are the planners doing, check if there is any need, check emails again, walk the warehouse to see how the production for weddings is going, send emails to the brides with proposals, and make sure all in the office is running smoothly, in the afternoon I try to see my grandchildren or just relax at home, I own two stores where I collaborate with artisans from around the world, we sell handmade clothing and textiles.
How did you get started in the industry?
I wanted to show my beautiful world heritage hometown of San Miguel de Allende, at the time, there was not really a wedding planning career, so it was all by instinct, but later on, I started going to wedding shows and learned a lot. I studied communication and worked in the toy industry, we launched Cabbage Patch in Mexico, and this experience taught me about logistics, and I think that is the key to having a successful wedding planning business. Since I was 25, I have been an entrepreneur and have owned different businesses, one of them a handmade housewares atelier where I meet a lot of the artisans that I collaborate with in Penzi.
What inspires you?
Everything!!! but basically Mexico… our colors, our traditions, our celebrations, our joy of life and parties, traveling, and of course, life and our couples, I get inspired by their love, where they come from and their life.
What are your favorite online resources for your business?
There are so many, we like the Over the Moon blog, and Mexican Queer weddings, I look a lot at Instagram, especially at Artisans all over the world.
Aside from wedding and event planning, how do you spend your time?
I love traveling, sewing, knitting, and spending time with my grandchildren and friends, and of course my stores.
