What is your typical day like?
Generally my day starts around 7am. The first thing I do in the morning is to scroll social media, and use Planoly to schedule a post in the evening if I know I am going to be in a late meeting.
I have a home office, but my
My day generally ends by
How did you get started in the industry?
I started in the event industry at the age of 12. I worked as a banquet server and eventually worked my way up to event venue coordinator. I started my own business in January 2018 when I saw a gap in my market.
I originally went to school and graduated from Red River College with a counseling degree. In 2016, I decided to take the WPICC course, and I was hooked instantly and saw the opportunities available to me in my market. I have always had a passion to work with engaged couples on their special days. When I graduated with my counseling degree, the fit just didn’t seem right. I wasn’t as happy as when I was planning an event!
What inspires you?
I am inspired by nature. I love spending time outside, going camping, lying under the stars, or walking on a beach. I gain valuable clarity during these moments in nature. I am also a huge sucker for scrolling inspirational wedding posts on Instagram for hours, no joke.
I spend the majority of my day listening to podcasts. When I hear other boss babes talking about their careers, struggles, and accomplishments, I just want to head over to my computer and create some magic!
What are your favorite online resources for your business?
I rely heavily on 17 Hats. It is an online resource to track all of my revenue, expenses, workflows, and emails. My business wouldn’t be nearly as successful as it is today without 17 Hats.
I also interact in a few different Facebook groups with local creatives which are extremely helpful and inspiring.
Aside from wedding and event planning, how do you spend your time?
I love to vacation. This past year on a week-long trip to Mexico, I accomplished so many business related tasks, and created content for months out of pure inspiration.
When I am not vacationing with my family, I love to head out to the cabin for a weekend, or curl up on my couch with comfy PJ’s and a good book.
