Event Planner Profile | Amy Adducci
Welcome to our Planner Profiles! Planner Profiles share inspiration and insight from Planner’s Lounge coaching and mentoring clients. Today we are thrilled to feature Illinois wedding planner Amy Adducci from Antique Bridal Events!
Tell us how you got started in event planning
I got started in event planning when I planned my daughter’s first birthday party three years ago. It was my first successful event that I had planned myself and I loved every part of it. From there, I earned my Certification in Event and Wedding Planning. I officially started working in the industry soon after. I wanted to start from the ground up, so I got a job at a local catering company as a server for weddings. It’s a great way to get hands-on learning experience.
Since I was engaged at the time, I used my wedding as my first portfolio piece. It was a great success! Since I had accomplished what I did up to that point, I was ready to start my business. I made what was the most valuable business decision, hiring Debbie Orwat from Planner’s Lounge as my wedding planner business coach. From there, my business really took off! I’m currently planning my daughter’s fourth birthday party!
What successes have you had in your business in the last six months?
In the last 6 months, I accomplished a lot. I registered my business, Antique Bridal Events. I worked on new branding for my business. I launched my website, got started on social media, and started marketing my business on Wedding Wire. I put myself out there by reaching out to vendors in my area to meet them and introduce myself. I also started attending vendor networking events. I have my business paperwork in order and am ready for my first client!
How has the Planner’s Lounge Mentoring Program helped you and your business?
The Planner’s Lounge Mentoring Program gave me the support I needed to push through hurdles to help me be more successful. The program was personalized to my needs by giving me goals I needed to accomplish to get to the next step. I also gained confidence in myself with every new experience I took on. Without Planner’s Lounge Mentoring Program, I wouldn’t be where I am right now.
Tell us about you! What do you love to do outside of your work?
My other passion is for antiques and vintage. I spend a lot of my time scoping out antique shops and estate sales. I incorporate my antique finds into my inventory for my clients. I also make time for myself everyday by working out and watching my nutrition. When I’m not working on business or myself, I’m spending quality time at home with my family and our puppy.
