What is your typical day like?
Each morning, I warmly embrace the day around 9 am, greeted by the sun’s gentle rays. My
first ritual involves delving into my inbox—an email check that serves as my compass for the
day ahead, keeping me organized and well informed.
My workdays unfold within the comforting embrace of my home office. It’s a space uniquely
mine, adorned with personal touches and a splash of greenery—a sanctuary where my
professional and personal worlds seamlessly intertwine. The morning is my canvas for work tasks, where I dive into projects, fuel creative endeavors, and connect with colleagues. There’s a certain rhythm to these early hours, setting the tone for a day filled with productivity and purpose.
Around midday, as hunger calls, I take a moment for nourishment. Often, it’s a working lunch,
a chance to refuel while keeping the momentum going. The afternoon becomes a mosaic of challenges, virtual meetings, and the steady progression of projects. It’s a dance, a delicate balancing act where I find fulfillment in each task conquered.
As the sun begins its descent, the aroma of a family dinner fills the air. Gathered around the
table, we share stories, laughter, and the simple joy of togetherness. This nightly ritual is a
cherished time to unwind, reconnect, and find fulfillment in the warmth of family bonds.
The night unfolds leisurely. Wrapping up any remaining work tasks, I carve out moments for
personal reflection and relaxation. Whether it’s getting lost in a good book, savoring a
favorite TV show, or indulging in a hobby, these evening hours are my sanctuary.
With the clock ticking toward bedtime, I embark on the final chapter of the day. Settling into
the embrace of a peaceful night’s sleep, I reflect on the intricate balance of work, family,
and personal moments. Each day is a tapestry of responsibilities, connections, and the
pursuit of passion—a story narrated by the unique ebb and flow of a life well-lived, and
uniquely mine.
How did you get started in the industry?
My odyssey in the enchanting world of event planning and design began in 2002, a time
when my passion for creating memorable experiences was ignited. I found my initial footing
by organizing fundraising events for the Cystic Fibrosis Center, where each event was not just
a gathering but a heartfelt endeavor to make a difference.
As a mother, my penchant for crafting magical moments manifested in the elaborate
birthday parties I orchestrated for my children. These celebrations weren’t just festivities; they
were a canvas for creativity and an early glimpse into my innate ability to curate
unforgettable experiences.
In 2015, my professional journey took a deliberate turn when I stepped into the role of a
coordinator for a prominent venue. This marked a pivotal moment in my career, offering me
a front-row seat to the intricacies of event execution. However, as I delved into the
coordination realm, a fervent desire to delve deeper into the design process began to
bloom within me.
In 2017, this yearning led me to pursue a certification in event planning from the New York
School of Art and Design. The program not only honed my skills but served as a
transformative experience, fueling my passion for infusing creativity into every aspect of
event planning.
The culmination of my journey came in 2018 when I took the bold step of starting my own
wedding planning business. It was a decision fueled by the desire to marry my organizational
skills with my artistic instincts, creating a space where I could intimately connect with couples
and shape their dreams into reality. Today, my business stands as a testament to my years of experience, education, and an unwavering passion for design. Each event is not just a job but a chapter in a story that
started with a commitment to making a difference in the lives of others—a commitment that continues to guide me on this extraordinary journey in the realm of event planning and
design.
What inspires you?
Nature, with its ever-evolving canvas, is a constant muse that dances through my creative
veins. Whether it’s the serene whisper of a secluded forest or the bold burst of colors in a
blossoming garden, the beauty of nature breathes life into the color palettes and textures
that define my unique design aesthetic. My wanderlust is a perpetual source of wonder, taking me from the lively rhythm of city streets to the tranquil embrace of distant countrysides. It’s in these explorations that I uncover the magic of cultural diversity and encounter architectural wonders that imprint their
essence on my design concepts.
Collaboration is not just a professional endeavor—it’s a dynamic dance with fellow creatives
that propels my ideas to new heights. Whether it’s rubbing shoulders with professionals in the
field, soaking up the energy of industry events, or engaging in spirited networking, these
interactions are the beating heart of innovation.
My commitment to growth is a journey of perpetual self-discovery. It’s about embracing new knowledge, attending workshops that fuel my curiosity, and staying attuned to the ever-evolving trends that shape the world of design. This pursuit of growth isn’t just a professional choice—it’s a personal commitment to evolving alongside my craft.
In essence, my inspirations weave a vibrant mosaic—a kaleidoscope of emotions, colors,
and experiences that not only shape the tapestry of my business but also form the very
fabric of my life’s journey. When it comes to blogs, Offbeat Wed and Green Shoes Weddings are more than sources of inspiration—they’re portals into a world where creativity knows no bounds. These
platforms echo my own ethos, where weddings and events are not just organized occasions
but curated experiences that reflect the authentic stories of those I have the honor to work
with.
Aside from wedding and event planning, how do you spend your time?
The stage is my canvas, and performing arts are my brushstrokes. Annually, you’ll find me
donning characters and immersing myself in the electric atmosphere of the Rocky Horror
Show production. It’s not just a hobby; it’s a spirited celebration of creativity and expression.
When it’s time to unwind, I indulge in the refined art of relaxation. Picture this—a candlelit
bath, the gentle fizz of prosecco, and the quiet symphony of serenity. This ritual is my
sanctuary, offering moments of tranquility amid life’s vibrant cadence.
Skincare is not just a routine; it’s a commitment to self-care. Every six weeks, I immerse myself
in the luxury of facials, a pampering ritual that rejuvenates both my skin and spirit.
A self-proclaimed foodie, I revel in the joy of savoring extraordinary flavors. From the artistry
of Michelin-starred restaurants to the hidden gems of local eateries, each meal is a culinary
adventure.
In essence, my life is a performance, an indulgence, and a pursuit of refined pleasures. Each
element—be it the applause on stage, the tranquility of a candlelit bath, or the explosion of
flavors on my palate—adds to the symphony of my existence, creating a mosaic that
transcends the boundaries of everyday routines.
