What is your typical day like?
I work from my home office so after getting myself ready for the day I will pour myself a pre-made iced coffee and head upstairs where my office is located to begin any tasks that are scheduled for the day. The first task no matter what is on my to-do list is always the inbox, I cannot stand inbox clutter. From there I move into my client folders, update any details or notes and return any missed calls that might have come through that morning. I manage all aspects of my business from social media to accounting so I stay busy with various operating duties.
I will break away from the office by 4:00 pm twice a week to make a wholesome dinner for my husband and me. I enjoy everything about cooking so the more complex a recipe is the better! Sometimes (not often) I will head back to my office in the evening, especially if there is a project I am working on. I’m such a night owl so I really do prefer working after the sun goes down even though I try and refrain from doing so. My favorite nighttime office background noise – Ghost Hunters on TLC!
How did you get started in the industry?
When I was 18, I out of the blue developed an interest in weddings. I took an online course for “Bridal Consulting” and that was pretty much it until I moved to Las Vegas about 5 years later. A year after relocating to Vegas I took my first job in the industry at a small, family-owned wedding chapel. I absolutely loved it and knew I had found my calling so for the next 12 years I moved around to various venues perfecting my skill. The end goal was to ultimately own my own business but wasn’t quite sure what that would look like or when it would actually happen. It all came to light in the spring of 2020 at the start of the pandemic. I marched myself up to my office two weeks into the shutdown and put the wheels in motion to get the necessary licensing so I could launch by the summer. Siello Weddings & Events is my pandemic baby, and I couldn’t be more blessed with what has become of it.
What inspires you?
I fell in love with podcasts during the pandemic so my favorites to listen to when I need a pick me up or some inspiration are “Talk” with Rene Dalo and “Wedded, The Wedding Planner Podcast. When I feel my creative juices drying up, I will hop onto Pinterest, search for wedding tabletop photos then create my own setups on my dining room table. Setting tables is one of my favorite things to do!
What are your favorite online resources for your business?
1. The Planners Lounge!
2. Braden Drake’s Contract Vault
3. Refine for Wedding Planners
4. Canva
Aside from wedding and event planning, how do you spend your time?
Travel. We might not visit the most exciting places but we make a point to get out of Las Vegas as much as we can. When I’m lucky to enjoy a free day away from my office I will visit my local Starbucks for my iced latte (usually I just make them at home) then walk every aisle in Target and DSW.
