7 Ways to Revitalize Your Brand
What do you do if rebranding just isn’t in the cards right now? Maybe you need to wait and save up to reinvest back in your business. Or, maybe you’ve already got something you’re pretty happy with, but just want to spiff things up a bit.
My best advice for you is to use what you have, right now. You don’t have to wait for things to be perfect to get started. There are simple things you can do to update your presence online that can pack a big punch.
Here are 7 ways to revitalize the look and brand of your event planning business:
1) Unify your social media colors & theme
Take the time to put together a mood board or some color swatches based on your current scheme. Reference this every time you post an image, and work on sharing images that are curated to the look of your brand.
2) Curate your portfolio
Block out an afternoon or a day to go through your portfolio. Ask yourself: is this up-to-date? Are these the types of weddings I want to do in the future? If not, nix it and refresh it with content that shares the type of work you’re looking to book.
3) Get intentional with your messaging
Go through all the copy on your site. Ask yourself — Am I speaking to the couple directly? (Using the word YOU and not writing impersonally) Am I writing about my services from the vantage point of their pain points? (What is stressing them out right now? Your website should immediately show them how your offerings are the solution to these problems).
4) Update your headshots
Anyone else guilty of having outdated headshots on their site? (Hand raised!) Adding a new headshot is a simple way to freshen up your site and even add some branding by intentionally choosing a shoot location and outfit colors that tell your brand story.
5) Clear the clutter on your site
One of the biggest mistakes I see people making is having a really cluttered website that distracts from their work itself. If this is the case with your site, take a few minutes to remove one or two extraneous accents on the main page of your website. A simpler site will allow your work to shine and help the website user not get lost.
6) Make it EASY to contact you
Make sure there is a super easy way to contact you on every page and double check that all your social media links are current and that they work. (And, folks shouldn’t have to look for your Instagram!)
7) List the locations you serve
Often times, people forget to list where they are located anywhere on their site. Listing where you are based out of on the footer of every page is a great way to brand yourself. Brand yourself as a destination wedding planner or list the locales (and beyond) that you serve! This will also help with SEO as couples will often search for wedding planners where they are getting married.
Write some of these action items on your calendar and take your brand to the next level. You’ve got this! Which of these can you start working on now? Share in the comments below. I’d love to hear!
This is a guest post from Kathryn Duckett, owner of Creme Brands.
