Wedding Day Advice | Table Numbers
We will be sharing wedding day tips and advice a few times per month to help you do an even better job for your clients.
Today’s Wedding Day Tip:
When setting the table numbers or table names on guest tables in the reception room, consider where guests will be entering the room. The table numbers should all face the direction of the entrance door so that guests can easily see the names or numbers and find their table quickly.

I would like to know if planner’s toolbox.if all these advice are in the toolbox?
you can let me know by send me an email thank you.
Also a key point is having the table numbers make sense in the order they are placed in room. Many times table numbers jump tables, and makes it a little confusing for the guests or waiting staff.
Yes! Thank you for mentioning this Stacey.
Such an important little detail that is sometimes forgotten. It’s very important if we “personally” don’t set the details to do a final check prior to guests entering the room. I can’t tell you the times I have attended an event only to do the circle of the full table before being able to see the table number. Thanks Debbie!
You are welcome Kelli. Thank you for being part of the community!
Glad you posted this. When we don’t set the numbers, I’m consistently surprised when catering companies don’t do this during set-up. We always make sure to do a final walk through of the room, moving table numbers around so they all face the same direction (toward the guest entrance) and look uniform.
I know what you mean Dana. I remember someone pointing this out to me during my first year and I’m forever grateful that I learned it early in my event planning career.
Thanks for sharing. I include this tip in my Training.
Thank you for the comment Elaine!
