What is your typical day like?
I work from home. My day typically starts at 7:30am with working out and meditating. After that, I have breakfast then head out for client or vendor meetings. After that, I take my lunch head home to catch up with emails, update client wedding details, checklist, timelines, make phone calls to vendors, return calls, and update my social media sites. I prefer to end my work day at 6pm. I also have a part-time marketing job with a small business in jewelry. The extra income really helps, especially in the low wedding seasons.
How did you get started in the industry?
I always wanted to start my own business. While doing research on what type of business to start, I found that wedding planning was a perfect fit for me. I interned with a wedding planner to find out more about the business. Once I was confident that it was what I wanted to do, I went ahead and became a wedding planner. I have a degree in business commerce. It was a well-rounded course that truly shaped me as a business person.
Where do you find design inspiration?
I determine the design of a wedding through the personality of my clients. I research a lot online; Pinterest is especially helpful in this regard.
