There are many ways to say thanks. The most important thing is to just do something. Here are easy ideas to thank a vendor for a referral or for a job well done:

• Email – A simple email showing your appreciation is easy and quick.

• Handwritten note – A handwritten note is a step above email and always well received.

• Lunch – Treating a vendor or colleague to lunch is a wonderful way to show gratitude and is also great for catching up and building a deeper relationship.

• A gift such as wine, flowers, or a gift card – If you know their preferences, these items make great thank-you gifts for a referral. You can sneak a peak at their social media accounts to get ideas for what they might like.

• Facebook – Post a thank you on the vendor’s business Facebook page for a job well done. Their fans and future clients can see what a great job they did with your online testimonial.

• Online Review – Write a great review on Google, Yelp, or other public forum. Business-to-business reviews are always helpful.

• Endorsements – Take a few minutes to write an endorsement for your colleague on Linkedin or Wedding Wire.

• Twitter – Do a shout out on Twitter complimenting their work, talent, and/or service so all their followers can see your praise.

• Blog Comment – Comment on a relevant blog post thanking the vendor for a job well done. Perhaps you can comment on the featured wedding or event on their blog that you worked on together.
